Job summary

Brasada Ranch in Powell Butte, Oregon, seeks an Equipment Manager to oversee all equipment and vehicles across the property and golf course. You will ensure safe, reliable operation and coordinate with department leaders to keep maintenance on schedule and costs in check.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, preventative service, staff training, and a strong safety culture, with opportunities to mentor the Shop Assistant and support the overall success of the Ranch.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance or turf equipment.
• Experience with diesel engines, heavy equipment, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of reel and bedknife sharpening, grinding, adjustment and replacement.
• Understanding of mowing practices, height of cut and quality of cut.
• Welding and basic fabrication.
• Ability to maintain equipment service records and shop inventory.
• Leadership to train and mentor the Shop Assistant.
• Ability to train staff on proper equipment operation, maintenance and safety.
• Valid driver's license and strong commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all vehicles and equipment across Brasada Ranch and the golf course.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, and minor repairs.
• Diagnose equipment and vehicle issues and determine repair costs.
• Maintain service records and track equipment hours for preventative maintenance.
• Maintain reels and bedknives, and ensure equipment readiness after mowing.
• Keep an organized shop with tools, parts, and supplies, and manage inventory.
• Promote a positive work environment and train the Shop Assistant.
• Coordinate larger repairs and outside service work when needed.
