Job summary

Brasada Ranch is seeking an Equipment Manager to oversee all vehicles and turf equipment across the Ranch and golf course. You will lead maintenance, diagnose issues, and maintain records to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in golf course maintenance or turf equipment, with diesel/mechanical experience, welding skills, and strong leadership to train staff and ensure safety Standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance, turf equipment, or a related field.
• Automotive, diesel, or mechanical experience preferred with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
• Experience with diesel engines, heavy equipment, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of reel and bedknife sharpening, grinding, adjustment, and replacement.
• Understanding of proper mowing practices, height of cut, and quality of cut.
• Welding and basic fabrication skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate service records and shop inventory.
• Leadership experience with the ability to train and mentor staff.
• Ability to train employees on operation and safety, and maintain safety standards.
• Valid driver's license and a commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all vehicles and equipment across Brasada Ranch and the golf course.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, and minor repairs.
• Diagnose equipment and vehicle issues and determine the appropriate repair and estimated cost.
• Maintain accurate service records, including completed and upcoming maintenance; track equipment hours.
• Maintain, sharpen, grind, adjust, and replace reels and bedknives as needed.
• Maintain an organized shop, including tools, parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain proper inventory of commonly needed parts, fluids, filters, and tools.
• Maintain proper height of cut and quality of cut for all mowing equipment.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and other equipment repairs as needed.
• Coordinate larger repairs and outside service work when necessary.
• Check reels and all mowers daily after mowing for readiness.
• Promote a positive work environment and strong team culture.
• Train and mentor the Shop Assistant and support staff.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment operation and provide training on safe use.

Role Description

The Brasada Ranch Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing equipment and vehicle operations across the property and golf course. This position ensures that all equipment and vehicles are safe, reliable, properly maintained, and ready to support the daily needs of the Ranch and Golf Course. The Equipment Manager works closely with department leaders and staff to keep equipment operations running efficiently and to support the overall success of the property.

• Take direction well and maintain a strong working relationship with the Superintendent.

• Maintain strong knowledge of equipment operation and provide training to staff on proper and safe equipment use.
• Maintain an open-door approach where all crew members feel comfortable and confident approaching the Equipment Manager.
• Hold yourself and the crew accountable for proper equipment care and safe operations.
