Job summary

Pegasus Aviation Services, an Akima company, is seeking a Ramp Service Lead (CSR) in Alaska to oversee ramp operations for large cargo aircraft and manage a crew of up to 15 staff. You will ensure safety, perform weight and balance calculations, and supervise ground service activities at the ramp.

The role reports to the Station Manager and requires excellent communication, resilience in harsh conditions, and willingness to work nights/weekends. On-site work in Fairbanks, Alaska is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably.
• Fluently read, write, speak and understand English.

• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre‑employment drug test.

Job description

Ramp Service Leads (CSRs) are responsible for load planning/cargo loading/offloading and oversight of all ground handling tasks associated with large cargo aircraft. CSRs (Customer Service Representatives) oversee the daily activities of ramp crews of up to 15 subordinate employees.

CSRs will also be responsible for the performance of maintenance (preventive and on-demand) of aircraft ground support equipment (motorized and non-motorized, gasoline and diesel fueled).

This CSR position will report directly to the Station Manager.

PhysicalDemands (Moderate):

• The CSR on occasion may lift or move (with help) up to 200 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 60 pounds. CSRs are regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, stand and walk.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
• CSRs routinely work outside for a portion and are exposed to all types of weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day. Use of provided hearing protection or acceptable alternative is required.
