Job summary

Southwest Airlines is seeking Line RON Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to inspect and repair aircraft on the ramp during overnight hours. You will work with Technical Operations and Airport Teams to keep schedules on track and planes ready for the next flight.

The role requires hands-on outdoor work, adherence to safety procedures, and ability to operate under time constraints. Union wage scale applies and benefits are available from day one.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend maintenance procedures manuals and related documents.
• Follow instructions, learn, understand, and comply with maintenance procedures, rules and regulations.
• Must be able to write accurate and complete summaries of work; sign to verify.
• Must have sufficient computer skills to access and complete computer based training modules.
• Must be able to meet all training requirements in a timely manner.
• Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to handle emergencies as needed.
• Must perform well in fast paced environment with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Works in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of the Company.
• The mechanic shall perform checks, dismantling, overhauling, repairing, fabricating, assembling, welding, painting aircraft and related parts.
• Must meet physical ability requirements listed on this description.
• May perform other duties as directed by Leaders, with internal and external Customers.
