Stantec is seeking a Railway Engineer to support planning and design of rail projects serving transit, industrial, freight, and passenger clients. You will grow your career with our Transit and Rail team while contributing to high-impact projects and working with mentors from an experienced group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in railway engineering and design.
• Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license required and ability to be licensed in other states as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform broad, varied, and diverse engineering design tasks under general supervision of the design lead or project manager, including engineering drawings, reports, presentations, and applications to regulatory/funding agencies.
• Engage in development of design through sketches, 3D models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
• Prepare and revise engineering design package documentation including site plans, utilities, plans/profiles, grading, cross sections, diagrams, and details.
• Collaborate with senior engineers/designers to develop and manage project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Work within multi-disciplinary teams to prepare designs from Concept Level to Issued for Bid packages with estimates and construction specs.
• Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, agency personnel, and governing entities.
• Coordinate technical activities and designs between various disciplines.
• Prepare engineering feasibility studies including environmental impact analyses and data assembly.
• Verify adherence to construction specifications, monitor progress, inspect sites, and validate calculations.
