Job summary

BNSF Railway is hiring for a Conductor trainee role based in Amarillo, TX. This full-time position involves on-call responsibilities, night/weekend work, and potential travel to remain in the seniority region. Training is on-the-job and classroom-based, up to 19 weeks, including travel to Overland Park, KS.

Joint safety is emphasized; benefits are provided. Relocation is not offered and there is a 60-day probationary period.

Qualifications

• Able to work now and in the future without sponsorship.
• Able to work the above shift/hours.
• Read, write and communicate English.
• Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Able to travel as required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older by start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, and act on information via various devices; monitor and report daily work.
• Operate track switches and derails to change train routing; ensure proper alignment.
• Inspect trains and equipment; ensure compliance with federal regulations and safety.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment under varying weather and shift conditions.
