Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, or willing to obtain.
• Must pass assessments and background/drug screenings.
• Willing to travel to multiple job sites and stay overnight.
• Able to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Carry and place track materials with standard railroad tools.
• Install railroad tracks and embankments, including road crossing signage.
• Perform track maintenance and construction tasks, including changing rails and ties.
• Operate picks, shovels, and spike mauls for long periods.
• Operate specialized hydraulic and air railroad power tools.
• Attend after hour/ weekend callouts to repair derailments.
• Assist in re-railing train cars.
• Follow company and federal safety rules and wear protective equipment.
