Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, is hiring Railroad Track Assemblers in Cleveland, OH on 2nd shift. You will build track panels, turnouts, crossings and other rail components to customer specs, applying your mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills. All new hires train on 1st shift for up to 8 weeks before transitioning to 2nd shift.

After training, you receive a $3.00/hour shift differential and contribute to safety, quality, and productivity in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools and equipment
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Grinding experience preferred
  • Hand tool experience preferred
  • Ability to read measurements and follow detailed work instructions
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, railroad, or industrial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble railroad track panels, turnouts, crossings, and other rail components
  • Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and grinding equipment
  • Measure, align, and inspect components to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.

Job Purpose

We are seeking hardworking and mechanically inclined Railroad Track Assemblers to join our team on 2nd Shift. In this role, you will use your mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to build track panels, turnouts, crossings, and other rail components according to customer specifications. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity in a manufacturing environment.

Job Purpose
