Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad in the United States is seeking an Assistant Signal Worker to help install, repair, and maintain railroad signals and grade crossing warning systems. You will work with various equipment and support the safe, efficient transport of goods across North America.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to FRA regulations, and teamwork. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, basic computer skills, and the ability to supervise others; an English assessment is required

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and basic computer skills required.
• Ability to supervise others and plan/organize tasks effectively.
• Commitment to safety rules and proactive safety practices.
• Strong arithmetic, measurement and data interpretation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; English assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect signal circuitry and equipment to identify defects.
• Assemble, disassemble and repair signal crossing devices.
• Install, maintain and repair signal systems and components.
• Use tools and machines responsibly; keep work areas clean.
• Operate company vehicles across the geographic territory.
• Collaborate with team and stakeholders to ensure high-quality work.
• Follow FRA regulations and safety guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
