Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking an Assistant Signal Worker to support installation, maintenance, and repair of railroad signals and grade crossing warning systems across North America. You will work with a variety of equipment and contribute to safe, efficient transportation of goods.

The role requires a valid driver's license, basic computer skills, and the ability to supervise others. Travel, adherence to safety and FRA guidelines, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to extract information from charts and tables.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and testing of signal circuitry and systems.
• Assemble, troubleshoot, and repair signal equipment.
• Install, maintain, and replace signaling devices and communications circuitry.
• Operate vehicles and travel within the geographic area.
• Maintain safe and clean work areas and comply with FRA regulations.
• Collaborate with team, contractors, and customers; manage conflicts.
• Respect safety protocols and participate in continuous improvements.
