Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking an Assistant Signal Worker to support the installation, repair, and maintenance of railroad signals and grade crossing warning systems. You will inspect circuitry, assemble devices, and troubleshoot issues to keep operations safe and efficient across North America.

The role requires a valid driver's license, basic computer skills, and the ability to supervise others while adhering to FRA and company safety standards.

• Proficient arithmetic: add/subtract/multiply/divide.
• Able to extract info from tables/charts for problems.
• Familiar with basic mechanical principles.

• English assessment required prior to interview.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test signal circuitry, equipment, and systems to identify defects.
• Assemble/disassemble signal crossing equipment and perform repairs.
• Construct, install, maintain, repair rail signal systems and components.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles; travel within territory.
• Adhere to safety, FRA regulations, and company guidelines.
• Foster collaboration with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
