Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a Railroad Signal Maintainer to oversee testing, maintenance and improvement of signal systems at grade crossings and way-side locations in the Minneapolis area. The role requires adhering to FRA and CDL standards and a strong safety mindset.

Ideal candidates will read wiring diagrams, use a multi-meter, and possess knowledge of basic electronics and low-voltage circuits. This is a full-time on-site position with benefits and a company vehicle when applicable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic electronics and electrical fundamentals with emphasis in low-voltage AC & DC circuits and relay/ladder logic.
• Must read wiring diagrams and use a multi-meter.
• Rail operations knowledge and signaling principles; focus on grade crossing warning systems, AEI readers and related tech.
• Independence in job duties; strong time management and initiative are essential.
• Proficient with PC and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain and improve signal systems at grade crossings and way-side locations per FRA/CDL standards.
• Maintain safety, reliability and documentation for signals and related equipment.
• Be a team player and assist with special projects as needed.
• Follow regulations and testing procedures and be available for on-call dispatch; manage paperwork and records.
