National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge in Memphis, TN to supervise construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads and transit systems.

This role demands field leadership, excellent safety judgment, and ability to deploy across multiple projects. The CIC will coordinate with railroad partners, ensure adherence to regulations, and manage on-site safety processes while traveling 50%–85% of the time.

Qualifications

• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way or TY&E departments.

Responsabilités

• Oversee safety-focused worksite operations and provide flagging services as needed.
• Conduct job briefings and ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during work.
• Monitor track conditions and approaching trains to keep personnel safe from active tracks and equipment.
• Communicate with train dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate train movements and permissions.
• Document all activities, including briefings, incident reports, logs, and forms for management and regulators.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
