Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge to oversee railroad rights-of-way work, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOT projects.

The CIC will lead safety briefings, coordinate with train crews, track inspections, and enforce FRA 49 CFR 214 standards while maintaining clear, timely documentation. This role requires travel 50%–85% and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a railroad company.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successfully completes all required training.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Conduct job safety briefings and ensure FRA compliance.
• Monitor track conditions and coordinate train movements.
• Document daily activities and incident reports for management.
• Enforce railroad, state, and federal policies.
