National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Columbus, GA to supervise construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for rail projects. The CIC will ensure work within railroad rights-of-way is performed safely and in accordance with regulations.

The role requires long-term travel (50–85% of the time), effective communication, and the ability to coordinate with train crews and regulators. NRSS offers comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably in maintenance of way or TY&E departments.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments.
• Must successfully complete all required federal, client, and company-specific training.”

Responsabilidades

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Conduct job briefings and ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214).
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities to keep personnel clear of active tracks.
• Communicate with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate train movements and permissions.
• Document all activities, including briefings, incident reports, and daily logs for management and regulators.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
