Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge in Savannah, GA. The CIC will oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

This field position requires traveling 50% to 85% of the time, a valid driver's license, and a high school diploma or equivalent. NRSS offers comprehensive benefits for safety-focused professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably in maintenance of way or TY&E.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Successfully completes required federal, client, and company training.
• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during track work.
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities for safety.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors.
• Document activities, including briefings, incident reports, logs, and forms.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
