Job summary

GFT seeks a Railroad Construction Manager II to join our Construction Services group in Houston, TX. This role requires extensive travel (90%) and oversight of railroad construction activities, with a focus on QA, inspections, documentation, and cost tracking.

The ideal candidate holds a Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree, 10+ years in general construction, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher required.
• 10+ years of general construction experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to travel 90%.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and oversee construction work to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Perform quality control inspections and documentation on railroad projects.
• Oversee material testing and project cost tracking/estimates; coordinate between stakeholders.
• Visit project sites to inspect field work and prepare technical reports.
• Provide observation and inspection of contractor operations; maintain daily logs.
