Job summary

GFT is seeking a Bridge Engineer - Rail to join our Transportation Team. The role involves leading complex design tasks for rail bridges, including analysis, rehabilitation, and inspection, with exposure to Class I railroads and transit projects across multiple US locations.

The position requires a Civil/Structural degree, PE license, AREMA familiarity, and hands-on experience with bridge design software. Expect travel within the continental United States and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering with emphasis in structures.
• PE License and at least 4 years’ professional experience on Class I and transit bridge projects.
• Experience with AREMA Manual for Railroad Engineering and familiarity with Class I railroad bridge standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex design tasks for rail bridge projects including structural design, rehabilitation, and inspection.
• Prepare load ratings, construction documents, specifications and estimates.
• Travel for projects and perform field inspections as part of a team.
