Job summary

GFT is seeking a Railroad Construction Manager II to join our Construction Services group in Houston, TX. This role oversees construction phases to ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and safety standards.

Responsibilities include inspections, documentation, and coordination among stakeholders across railroad projects, with extensive travel. A high school diploma and 10+ years in construction are required; Procore and MS Office proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma.
• 10+ years of general construction experience.
• Ability to travel 90% of the time.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Background check and drug screening.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction work to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Research plans, specifications, material testing procedures, and local requirements.
• Prepare and maintain daily and periodic project documentation.
• Visit project sites to inspect and document field work.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Provide observation and inspection of construction work and contractor operations.
• Maintain daily logs and compare progress reports.
• Ensure construction safety practices and methods are followed.
