Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Railroad Bridge Engineer for CAHSR-related projects in California. The role focuses on reviewing bridge designs, evaluating submittals, and resolving field issues to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

The engineer will act as the primary technical liaison among design consultants, construction management, contractors, and stakeholders, supporting successful delivery of complex railroad bridge infrastructure through coordination and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in civil engineering with 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• California PE license or eligibility via reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with AREMA, AASHTO LRFD, Caltrans design manuals and standards.
• Proficiency with BIM/structural analysis software and construction management tools.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Review bridge designs, calculations, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals for technical accuracy.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, design engineers, specialty consultants, and contractors.
• Evaluate field design changes and value engineering proposals for compliance with standards.
