Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is hiring Bridge & Building Carpenters to repair and maintain railroad infrastructure in the Altoona, WI area. You will work under a foreman on bridges and buildings, performing carpentry, masonry, and related construction tasks to keep trains moving safely.

Applicants must meet the required qualifications, be able to read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and obtain or hold a CDL. A safety-focused, flexible, outdoors-friendly mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL Class A or B or ability to obtain within probationary period.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and following technical instructions.
• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Paint, frame, and install bridge timbers.
• Construct concrete forms, pour and finish concrete; drive piles.
• Undertake construction and repair tasks on culverts, bridges, and buildings.
• Maintain safety and follow FRA regulations.
