Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad Bridge & Building Carpenters repair railway infrastructure across North America, including bridges, culverts and buildings. You will perform carpentry, masonry and formwork under a foreman, helping keep trains safe and on schedule.

Reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and adhering to FRA and company safety standards are essential. Outdoor work, varied shifts, and overtime may apply within a teamwork-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old with valid driver’s license.
• CDL Class A or B or ability to obtain one within probation.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Must successfully complete an English assessment before interview.

Responsibilities

• Paint, frame, and install bridge timbers.
• Conduct masonry repairs on bridges, including concrete forms, piles, layout, pouring and finishing.
• Undertake construction and repair tasks on culverts, timber/steel bridges, and buildings.
• Foster positive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers; manage urgent situations.
• Adhere to safety, FRA regulations, and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
