Job summary

NEBCO Inc. is seeking a skilled railcar repair helper to inspect, repair, and service freight railcars, transloading, and track maintenance. You will work 6:45 am–2:45 pm, with potential extended hours and some on-call nights or weekends, and may travel overnight occasionally.

This role offers benefits under the Railroad Retirement Program and emphasizes safety compliance. Responsibilities include performing inspections and repairs under FRA, AAR, and OSHA guidelines, reading repair sheets,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Technical welding training helpful but not required.
• Prior railcar repair experience helpful but not required.
• Must demonstrate mechanical repair aptitude and be able to learn car shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide railcar repair and other railroad support services.
• Perform inspections and repairs to regulatory guidelines and customer requirements.
• Read and follow repair sheets and work scopes.
• Operate welding equipment and cut using acetylene torches.
• Complete repair and inventory documentation accurately.
