Job summary

Harbor Rail Services seeks a Railcar Repairman and Welder to inspect, repair, rebuild, and service railroad freight cars in accordance with AAR, FRA and railroad rules. The role requires working with hand tools, power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment, often in demanding environments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, fluent English communication, and a readiness to work overtime and on-call as needed. CDL is a plus and safety gear is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate English fluently and professionally.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and follow directions precisely.
• CDL is a plus and can enhance qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, inspections, and servicing of freight cars per AAR, FRA and railroad rules.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment safely.
• Load/unload materials and assist with door/deck operations as needed.
• Follow safety rules and wear prescribed PPE at all times.
