Job summary

The Greenbrier Companies is seeking a Welder 2 to perform quality welding and assembly of railcar components. Tasks include inspecting welds, fitting parts in jigs, and applying complex arc welding using various equipment across the production line.

You will read blueprints, follow procedures, and maintain a safe, clean work environment while supporting crew training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass weld assessments to perform work as a Welder 2.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or weld drawings and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation and complete required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Fits, aligns, and clamps railcar parts for welding.
• Operates weld machine and controls heat and feed rate for proper penetration and bead size.
• Visually inspects welds and repairs defects; performs minor equipment repairs as needed.
• Trains fellow welders on the job when requested by supervision.
• Follows blueprints and welding procedures and maintains safety and housekeeping standards.
