Guardian Rail is hiring Repair Technicians for Albany, OR. You will inspect and repair railcars to FRA/AAR specs, using welding and mechanical skills. Outdoor, year-round work with safety and quality focus. Prior railcar or heavy industrial experience preferred.

We offer a sign-on/retention bonus of $1,500 payable over the first year and a competitive pay scale based on skills and experience. Must pass fitness and drug screenings as part of the process.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience as a Carman or Railcar Repair Technician desirable.
• Read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and blueprints.
• Basic mechanical knowledge with hand and power tools.
• Outdoor, hands-on work with frequent physical tasks.
• Welder certification (E7018) preferred.
• Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively.
• Pass fitness-for-duty exam, pre-employment physical, and screenings.

Responsabilités

• Perform railcar repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules.
• Conduct pre- and post-inspections of assigned railcars.
• Follow safety protocols and company quality programs.
• Maintain a clean work area and adhere to environmental rules.
• Assist in disassembly of damaged railcars and perform repairs as required.
• Operate hand and power tools, welding equipment, and related machinery.
• Meet welding standards and training requirements.
