Union Tank Car Company in Altoona, PA is seeking a Repair Supervisor for off-shift to oversee third-shift railroad car repairs. You will supervise hourly staff, interpret blueprints, and ensure adherence to AAR, DOT, FRA standards while maintaining quality and safety across multiple repair phases.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervision in manufacturing, strong communication, and the ability to manage priorities in a demanding industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing, repair, or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise hourly employees across all phases of railroad car repair to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate repair work.
• Ensure compliance with AAR, DOT, FRA rules and company requirements throughout the repair process.
• Inspect completed work and maintain accountability for quality of repairs performed by direct reports.
• Train, coach, motivate, and discipline assigned employees and schedule personnel to meet production schedules.
