Railcar Coatings Applicator

Location: Beaumont, TX

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift starting at 6:00 AM

Pay: $18 - $22 per Hour

About the Role

Iron Horse is growing and we are looking for dependable individuals to support our Paint Operations in Beaumont, TX. Join a hardworking team responsible for preparing and maintaining critical freight rail equipment.

What You'll Do

• Prepare railcar surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping, cleaning, and removing old paint, rust, dirt, and other contaminants
• Perform touch-up painting using brushes and rollers
• Apply primer and paint to railcars and railcar components as directed
• Mask and protect areas that do not require painting
• Assist Coatings Applicators and other Paint Department employees with painting and preparation activities
• Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of painting tools and equipment
• Identify areas requiring additional preparation or touch-up
• Follow work orders and instructions to ensure work is completed properly and on schedule
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Properly use required personal protective equipment
• Follow all company safety procedures and environmental requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Previous painting, construction, automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or general labor experience is preferred
• Experience with brush and roller painting is a plus
• Ability to learn proper surface preparation and painting techniques
• Comfortable working around large railcars and industrial equipment
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic hand tools
• Ability to work safely in physically demanding and industrial environments
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Working Environment

• Physically demanding industrial environment

• Respirators and other PPE may be required
