Railcar Coatings Applicator
Location: Beaumont, TX
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift starting at 6:00 AM
Pay: $18 - $22 per Hour
About the Role
Iron Horse is growing and we are looking for dependable individuals to support our Paint Operations in Beaumont, TX. Join a hardworking team responsible for preparing and maintaining critical freight rail equipment.
What You'll Do
- Prepare railcar surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping, cleaning, and removing old paint, rust, dirt, and other contaminants
- Perform touch-up painting using brushes and rollers
- Apply primer and paint to railcars and railcar components as directed
- Mask and protect areas that do not require painting
- Assist Coatings Applicators and other Paint Department employees with painting and preparation activities
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of painting tools and equipment
- Identify areas requiring additional preparation or touch-up
- Follow work orders and instructions to ensure work is completed properly and on schedule
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Properly use required personal protective equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and environmental requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Previous painting, construction, automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or general labor experience is preferred
- Experience with brush and roller painting is a plus
- Ability to learn proper surface preparation and painting techniques
- Comfortable working around large railcars and industrial equipment
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic hand tools
- Ability to work safely in physically demanding and industrial environments
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- High School Diploma or GED preferred

Working Environment
- Physically demanding industrial environment
- Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing
- Work inside and outside of railcars
- Exposure to paint fumes, airborne particles, dust, and industrial noise
- Exposure to outdoor weather and changing temperatures
- Respirators and other PPE may be required
- Must be comfortable working at heights and in confined or restricted spaces
