Job summary

Stadler is seeking a Railcar Maintenance Technician to support CapMetro operations in Austin, TX. You will maintain Stadler GTW DMU rail vehicles, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure safe, reliable fleet performance in a collaborative environment with CapMetro maintenance staff.

You will perform preventive and corrective work, document actions, and participate in training for customer personnel while adhering to FRA regulations and Stadler quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification or equivalent training.
• Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining rail vehicles or similar equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Stadler GTW DMU passenger rail vehicles.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, propulsion, braking, door and control systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and support root cause analysis activities.
• Perform inspections, testing, adjustments and repairs according to OEM procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic software, testing equipment, hand tools and power tools.
• Document maintenance activities and corrective actions.
• Assist with training and knowledge transfer to customer personnel.
• Follow FRA regulations, customer safety procedures and company quality requirements.
