Job summary

Stadler US is seeking a Railcar Maintenance Technician to support the Stadler GTW DMU fleet operating with CapMetro in Austin, TX. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure safe, reliable rail operation on site.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in rail or industrial maintenance, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work with customer staff. The role involves FRA-compliant procedures and collaboration with CapMetro personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years maintaining rail vehicles or similar equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• Experience reading technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Stadler GTW DMU passenger rail vehicles.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, propulsion, braking, door and control systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and support root cause analysis.
• Perform inspections, testing, adjustments and repairs per OEM procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic software, testing equipment, hand tools and power tools.
• Document maintenance activities and corrective actions.
• Assist with training and knowledge transfer to customer personnel.
• Follow FRA regulations, customer safety procedures and company quality requirements.
