Job summary

Great Smoky Mountains Railroad seeks a Coach Maintenance - Laborer to perform repair, restoration and maintenance of railroad rolling stock, including windows, walls, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. The role involves working on and off trains, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for long periods in all weather.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate willing to learn and gain certifications.
• Skills include woodworking, metal fabrication, welding, basic plumbing, basic electrical, painting, HVAC and demolition.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).
• Capable of standing up to 12 hours and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass pre-employment/physical and DMV checks.

Responsibilities

• Repair, restore, and construct railroad car rolling stock components.
• Provide routine maintenance to generator railcars.
• Perform inspections and identify repairs needed.
• Assist in HVAC installation and service on railcars.
• Comply with safety rules and GSMR procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to serve passengers.
