Job summary

Eagle Railcar Services is seeking a senior operations leader to oversee railcar repair, cleaning, and coating activities. You will manage diverse teams, ensure compliance with AAR/FRA regulations, and drive safety, quality, and production targets across multiple facilities.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and process-improvement skills, with a focus on delivering reliable service to customers and maintaining efficient throughput in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, chemistry, or related field.
• Progressive management experience in a large industrial facility is required.
• Experience supervising railcar maintenance or manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensures railcar maintenance activities meet safety, quality, and production targets.
• Reviews plant operation, workload, and backlog to optimize efficiency and throughput.
• Develops action plans to move railcars through the plant safely and efficiently.
• Resolves breakdowns, delays, and bottlenecks affecting cycle times.
• Oversees managers and supervisors across railcar repair, cleaning, coating, inspection, and customer service.
• Defines responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities for staff.
• Monitors staffing, training, and KPI achievement; enforces targets.
• Reviews daily/weekly performance data and adjusts plans to address deficiencies.
• Evaluates supervisor performance and provides coaching.
• Builds strong customer relationships and handles inquiries effectively.
