Job summary

CSX Transportation, Inc. seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee the quality repair and inspection of rail cars, ensuring safety per CSXT rules, FRA regulations, and AAR standards. You will drive continuous improvement, manage departmental budgeting, and coach managers and union staff.

The role requires coordinating safety briefings, conducting operations tests, and leading cross-functional teams in a 24/7 rail environment. Strong leadership and knowledge of rail operations are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in transportation, logistics, rail operations, or related fields.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute and communicate the safety plan for department and shop.
• Facilitate safety briefings and promote safe task procedures.
• Conduct safety observations and ensure regulatory compliance (FRA, AAR).
• Eliminate hazards and elevate issues for resolution.
• Manage inspection, yard, and line-of-road activities to meet standards.
• Coach, develop, and train managers and union employees.
• Forecast staffing, scheduling, and material requirements.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
