Job summary

Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) seeks an Electrician for the Car Equipment Division to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and test electrical and electronic railcar equipment. Work includes bench-work away from railcars, fault logging with Portable Test Equipment, and adherence to FRA/OSHA guidelines.

The role requires a journeyman level in electrical trades or completion of the Car Equipment Electrician Apprentice Program, with potential for rotating shifts and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Four (4) years paid full-time work experience as a journeyman in the Electrical trade OR completion of a registered Car Equipment Electrician Apprentice Program.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical/electronic railcar subsystems.
• Perform fault log downloads from railcars using Portable Test Equipment for troubleshooting and repair.
• Perform removal, installation, assembly and disassembly of railcar systems/subsystems; bench-work in Electrical Shop.
