Job summary

Watco Transloading seeks a Conductor/Engineer in Charleston, IL. This full-time, hourly role will control and coordinate train movements, switch railcars, and service customers at our yard or industrial sites. Training is provided, with on-the-job learning and safety-focused operations.

The position demands reliability, English communication, and adherence to rail rules. Starting pay is $24.00 per hour, with compensation reflecting experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass training and required testing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
• Follow written and verbal directions to complete tasks on schedule.
• Read, write, and communicate in English and understand basic math.
• Read switching orders and coordinate activities of train crews.
• Observe signals and operate locomotive following railroad rules and safety procedures.
• Maintain records of cars switched and cargo.
• May coordinate switching crews and assist with switching operations.
