Road & Rail Services in Mulberry, FL is hiring a Railroad Switchman/Conductor to support safe railcar movements in a busy outdoor yard. No prior railroad experience is required; training is provided.

The job emphasizes reliability, safety awareness, good communication, and the ability to learn switching procedures and work as part of a crew. This full-time, on-site role includes day and night shifts, outdoor conditions, PPE, and opportunities for advancement within a veteran-friendly company

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Dependable transportation to Mulberry facility.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to follow safety instructions and procedures.
• Willingness to learn railroad switching and conductor responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.

Responsabilités

• Assist with switching, spotting, and positioning railcars throughout the facility.
• Operate manual track switches as required during switching movements.
• Communicate with locomotive operators and crew using radios/hand signals.
• Couple and uncouple railcars during switching operations.
• Inspect tracks, switches, railcars, and surrounding areas for hazards.
• Confirm railcars are properly positioned before movements.
• Climb railcars and equipment to perform duties.
• Walk long distances in the rail yard over uneven surfaces.
• Remain alert to moving equipment and changing conditions.
• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain PPE and equipment throughout the shift.
