Job summary

Hitachi Rail USA, Inc. is seeking a motivated Mechanical Installer in Baltimore, MD to install propulsion, pneumatic, braking and related systems on transit vehicles. You will follow a pre-established schedule, read engineering drawings, use precision measuring tools, verify torque values and record test results.

The role demands basic hand tools, strong math skills, and the ability to work safely in a busy warehouse environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality control.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent; trade school cert desired.
• Experience installing mechanical equipment and following assembly/build practices.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow a pre-established installation schedule for equipment on transit vehicles.
• Record test results, torque values, part and serial numbers in reports.
• Perform welding/burning as directed and use hand/power tools.
• Maintain safe work environment and document parts and materials used.
• Read and interpret drawings and work orders; support engineering and supervision.
