Hitachi Rail Limited in Baltimore, MD is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Installer to support North American Vehicles projects. The role involves a fast-paced warehouse/production environment with tasks from installation to documentation.

You will read engineering drawings, use precision measuring tools, and ensure quality control while following safety procedures. A high school diploma and basic hand tools are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Technical trade school degree/certificate desired.
• Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently in English.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment on transit vehicles per a pre-established schedule.
• Use precision measuring devices and inspect work for specifications.
• Record test results and parts into vehicle history records.
• Modify rail vehicles as directed by engineering and supervision.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
• Maintain safety procedures and document materials used.
• Perform welding and burning as required.
• Use and maintain hand and power tools of the trade.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
