Job summary

Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division in Lexington, NC, is seeking a Logistics Transport Technician to support rail vehicle movement, rigging, and daily production tasks in a fast-paced facility.

You will read blueprints, secure vehicles, operate hand and power tools, and contribute to final assembly of passenger locomotives and cars. Shift Monday-Thursday 4:00pm–2:30am, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on equipment operation experience.
  • Proficiency with rigging methods and tie-down techniques.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Support rail vehicle movements within the facility.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to daily tasks.
  • Prepare flatcars and load rail vehicles onto flatcars or trailers.
  • Secure rail vehicles using tie-down methods and materials.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on equipment and rigging.
  • Operate hand and power shop tools safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints; use tools with precision.
  • Assist with special activities as directed by lead technician.
  • Perform maintenance tasks from blueprints, parts lists, and sketches.
