Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Vehicle Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Oakland, California.

Accountabilities:

1. Ensure the assessment of the Vehicle Design in order to achieve full integration with other sub-systems and components;
2. Ensure the monitoring of Vehicle production and testing process in order to control key factors affecting interfaces and system performances.
3. Execute the Verification activities of Vehicle interface documents, according to the V&V Plan;
4. Participate to on site tests relevant to the vehicle Integration (e.g. advice to issue resolution);
5. Contribute to the functional requirements fulfilment in Design and Testing phase and to the resolution of the interfaces among the sub-systems mainly involving vehicle providing detailed description of the main integrated functions as well as main operating scenarios.

Required Skills:
• 3-5 years' experience in on board equipment installation and testing.
• Knowledge in on board equipment installation and testing, in particular in electrical wiring, functional scheme review and mechanical installation.
• Ability to work in a complex project and team-work skills.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Equivalent Technical Background.

The salary range for this position is $108,000- $162,000 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidate’s experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
