Job Description

Hitachi Rail seeks a self-motivated Rail Vehicle Engineer to thrive in a fast-paced setting. The role involves a variety of engineering tasks, from administrative to strategic, based in Oakland, California.

Accountabilities

1. Assess Vehicle Design for full integration with other systems and components.
2. Monitor Vehicle production and testing to ensure interface and system performance.
3. Perform Verification activities on Vehicle interface documents as per the V&V Plan.
4. Participate in on-site vehicle integration tests and assist in issue resolution.
5. Contribute to fulfilling functional requirements during Design and Testing, focusing on interface resolution among sub-systems, including detailed descriptions of main functions and operating scenarios.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years' experience with onboard equipment installation and testing.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, functional scheme review, and mechanical installation.
• Ability to work on complex projects with strong teamwork skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical background.

Languages

Proficient in English.

Additional Information

Hitachi complies with DOT's FRA and FTA safety-sensitive screening programs. Salary ranges from $108,000 to $162,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
