Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Rail Vehicle Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Oakland, California.

Accountabilities:

• Ensure the assessment of the Rail Vehicle Design in order to achieve full integration with other sub-systems and components;
• Ensure the monitoring of Rail vehicle production and testing process in order to control key factors affecting interfaces and system performances.
• Execute the Verification activities of Rail vehicle interface documents, according to the V&V Plan
• Participate in onsite tests relevant to the vehicle Integration (e.g. advice to issue resolution)
• Contribute to the functional requirements fulfilment in Design and Testing phase and to the resolution of the interfaces among the sub-systems mainly involving vehicle providing detailed

Required Skills:
• 3-5 years' experience in onboard equipment installation and testing of Rail vehicles.
• Knowledge in onboard equipment installation and testing, in particular in electrical wiring, functional scheme review and mechanical installation.
• Ability to work in a complex project and team-work skills.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or
Information Technology or Equivalent Technical Background

The salary range for this position is $112,000- $168,000 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidate’s experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
