Job summary

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) seeks an experienced LRV Technician to diagnose and repair hydraulic and electronic systems on light rail vehicles in Houston. You will read schematics, use diagnostic software and test equipment, and perform maintenance tasks to keep rail operations safe and on schedule.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, testing components, entering work orders, and collaborating with vendors, contractors and management to ensure fleet

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in electrical/electronic technology preferred.
• Texas Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required; ability to pass Yard Safety Orientation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; read and interpret schematics.
• Must pass technical competency test prior to interview.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, diagnoses, function tests and repairs rail vehicle systems and equipment.
• Performs technician-level diagnosis and repair of complex electrical and electronic equipment.
• Tests and troubleshoots wiring using OEM diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Enters work orders and documents warranty data; maintains safety procedures.
