The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County in Houston is seeking an Electronic Communications Specialist to maintain and troubleshoot radio communication systems across revenue and non-revenue vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, preferred Associates degree in Electronics Technology, and at least four years of electronic maintenance experience. This position requires adherence to strict safety procedures and a valid Texas driver’s license.
Basic Function
Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Pay Range: $56,500 - $74,000
High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associates degree in Electronics Technology or related field, or relevant military experience in electronics maintenance is required.
Minimum four (4) years extensive electronic maintenance experience including two‑way vehicular radio experience; or a minimum of two (2) years technical training in electronics technology.
Possession of an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is preferred. A valid Texas driver’s license is required for the job and must meet METRO’s requirements regarding motor vehicle records. Working knowledge of personal computers and related software. Good communication skills (written and verbal).
