Job summary

The GBS Group is seeking an Installation Technician to support our growing technology business. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage systems including WiFi, radio, train control, and security systems on rail and commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities include on-board electronic installations, GPS communications, network testing, and customer-ticket support with a 6:00am–3:00pm Monday–Friday schedule. Travel and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years with telecommunications, WiFi or radio installations/testing.
• Must have working knowledge of automobile/rail electronics and proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
• Flexible for periodic travel and overnight stays when required.
• Must pass security clearance check for access to secure locations.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Clean driving record and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems and equipment on rail and commercial vehicles.
• Provide installation support for electronic systems on board rail equipment.
• Design, install, and maintain rail Wi-Fi equipment including switches, access points, and antennas.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair GPS communications systems for rail and motor vehicles.
• Respond to customer trouble tickets in a timely and methodical manner.
• Test and maintain equipment using VSWR meters, multi-meters, RF cable meters and meggers.
