Metric Geo in Boston is seeking a Project Manager II for Rail & Transit to lead mid-scale engineering projects from planning through delivery. You will serve as primary contact for clients, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure work is on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of engineering experience, 4+ years in project management, PE license, and proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, resources, and business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of project management experience with responsibility for projects, people, clients, and/or BD.
  • Experience coordinating teams of 5+ employees.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Rail & transit, signals, communications, train control or related transportation systems experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of engineering projects from planning through delivery.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and quality.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams and delegate project responsibilities.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day operational contact for clients.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, financial performance, and resource utilization.
  • Identify project risks, scope changes, and opportunities for change orders.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business.
  • Contribute to proposals, pursuit strategy, scopes, fee development, and resource planning.
  • Support business development within existing client accounts.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and staff.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC, contractual requirements, and internal standards.
  • Manage multiple projects or workstreams with delivery quality.
