Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an Office Engineer for a large rail/transit project. The role focuses on project administration, submittal coordination, and documentation control in a dynamic, field-oriented environment.

The candidate will support the Project Manager and Lead Construction Manager, interact with contractors, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 5+ years of construction experience as an Office Engineer on rail/transit projects.
• Experience with Procore software.
• Ability to read engineering plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• OSHA 10-hour safety training.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and review Contractor submittals and related project documentation; coordinate reviews and meetings.
• Provide estimating, budget, scope development, and change order support as needed.
• Manage document control using Procore and related databases.
• Prepare letters, meeting minutes, and written reports as required.
• Verify invoices and progress payments align with work completed.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating field activities and progress meetings.
