Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. seeks an Office Engineer for a large rail/transit project to manage documentation, compliance, and administration.

The OE supports field work, safety, and quality control, reporting to the Project Manager and assisting with submittals, change orders, and progress payments. Salary in the $85,000–$95,000 range is offered, commensurate with experience, with a good-faith estimate reflecting diverse applicant pools.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in project coordination and documentation control.
• Ability to read electrical, communication, civil/structural plans and specs.
• Experience with paperless project documentation practices.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and OSHA 10-hour card.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and review Contractor submittals and related documents; coordinate reviews and meetings.
• Provide estimating, budget, scope development, estimate review, and change order support.
• Perform document control using Procore and databases.
• Write letters, meeting minutes, and develop reports.
• Validate invoices for payment against project progress.
• Recommend sequencing of field/construction activities in railroad environments.
• Assist in concurrence forms and communications with Contractor and subconsultants.
• Generate project status reports and help manage progress meetings.
• Maintain a digital photo record of construction progress.
• Coordinate with labor, utilities, and agencies; ensure OSHA compliance.
• Ensure shop drawings are approved before work starts; document critical issues.
