Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Field Inspector - Rail and Transit to join our Philadelphia team on a major rail project. You will perform field inspections, review schedules, and ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.

With 5+ years on large civil projects, you'll coordinate with contractors, prepare reports, and support construction management. The role requires flexibility for day/night shifts and weekends; Parsons offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience.
• 5+ years of field construction experience.
• Experience on large civil/structural or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations preferred.
• Requires knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes and industry practices.
• Excellent written and oral communication; familiarity with CAD and PC software; ability to lead on a project.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections to ensure work meets approved plans and specifications.
• Prepare daily field reports summarizing progress, inspections, and issues.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities for safety and quality compliance.
• Coordinate with field inspectors and managers to resolve site challenges.
• Review weekly schedule look-aheads and estimate activity durations.
• Document non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Support quality control and project reporting under Construction Manager guidance.
• Assist with administrative duties under the Construction Manager.
• Be prepared for day/night shifts and weekend work as required.
